Privacy Policy
Last updated · Version: 2026-08-25.2
This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use our assessments and your member account. It covers all of our assessments, whether free or paid, and the profile that holds your results over time. It is the complete version of what the sign-up screen summarizes. If anything here is unclear, email us at the address at the bottom and we will get back to you.
1. Who we are
Our assessments are run by Dr. Dustin A. Jackson LLC, an Arizona company. We are the "data controller," which means we are responsible for your information and for protecting it.
Contact: hope@forgehopenow.com · 4539 N 22nd St Ste N, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
2. What these assessments are — and are not
Our assessments are tools for self-reflection. Some are free and some are paid. None of them are medical, clinical, or psychological advice, and none are therapy. They do not diagnose or treat anything. What they give you describes a moment, not a verdict, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. We mention this here because it also shapes how we treat your data: we hold it with care, but it is your reflection, not your medical record.
3. What we collect, and why we hold each piece
Different assessments ask different questions, so the specific items vary. Everything we collect falls into these categories, and nothing outside them:
| What | Why we hold it |
|---|---|
| Your email | So you can log in and return to your results. |
| A private profile ID we create | To connect your results to your account, privately. |
| Five basic details: age range, country, language, a self-described gender, education level | To build your results, and to check our assessments work fairly across different groups. |
| Your answers to each assessment, and what each answer maps to | To generate your result. |
| How long you spent on each question | To improve accuracy — spotting confusing questions and rushed responses. |
| Your results — the scores and the reading each assessment produces | So they're saved to your profile and you can return to them. |
| Your profile over time — the picture your results form together | So you can see how things change across assessments and across time. See §7b. |
| Payment and purchase details (paid assessments only) | To process your purchase, give you access to what you bought, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. See §3b. |
We do not collect free-text about you, we do not track you across the web, and we do not build an advertising profile of you. We do not collect any special categories of data (such as race, religion, health, or sexual orientation).
3b. Payment information (paid assessments)
When you buy an assessment, the payment itself is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. What we keep is the record of the purchase — what you bought, when, how much, and that it was paid — so we can give you access to it and satisfy tax and accounting law.
(Payment processor: [TO BE NAMED — not yet selected]. This section will name them specifically before any paid assessment goes on sale.)
4. This is sensitive information, and we treat it that way
Your answers describe your emotional state. Under privacy law that is sensitive personal information, and it gets the highest level of care:
- We ask for your clear, up-front agreement before we store any answer. You are never opted in by default.
- Your data is encrypted, both while it travels to us and while it is stored (including your history).
- Your results are private to you. No other user can see them. We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising.
5. The legal basis for holding your data
We hold your answers on the basis of your explicit consent, given before you begin storing anything. You can withdraw it anytime by deleting your account or turning off a specific permission. Withdrawing doesn't undo what was already done while consent was active, but it stops everything going forward.
For purchases, we also hold payment records because we have a legal obligation to keep them (see §9).
6. How we use your information
- To build and show you your results.
- To let you return and see your history across assessments.
- To improve our assessments' accuracy (including the response-timing described above).
- To process purchases and give you access to what you bought.
- If — and only if — you opt in: to include your answers, in fully anonymized form, in our research and published findings (see §7).
We do not use your data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Our assessments share a reflection; they do not decide anything about your life, your job, or your access to anything.
7. Optional research use — and how it can survive account deletion
You have two separate optional choices here, and they are independent. You can say yes to one, both, or neither:
- Help improve the assessments. Keep your answers, fully anonymized, so we can make them more accurate.
- Include my answers in published findings. Keep your answers, fully anonymized, for our published research and reports.
Both are off unless you turn them on, neither is bundled with anything else, and neither is required to use your account.
When you opt in, we write a separate research copy of your answers that never carries your identity: no email, no profile link, no basic details, and no way to connect it back to you. It is anonymized from the instant it is created and stored apart from anything that identifies you. Because that copy was never personal data, it can lawfully remain in our research set even if you later delete your account. Anything we publish is always in aggregate. We report group patterns, never an individual.
About turning these off. You can turn either choice off at any time, and we will stop keeping anything new from that moment on. Copies already in the research set cannot be pulled back out, because they carry nothing that identifies you and there is no way to find which ones were yours. That is the same thing that makes them anonymous, and we would rather tell you plainly than imply we can do something we cannot.
If you never opt in, deleting your account deletes your answers too.
7a. We do not carry a door answer forward
If you answered a question before creating an account, we do not connect that answer to your account, even if you used the same email. Every account starts fresh. We ask again because the answer describes a moment, and moments change.
7b. Your profile across assessments
Once you have an account, the assessments you take join one picture. When you take a new one, its result is added to your profile automatically — we don't ask you to re-authorize it each time, because connecting your results over time is what the account is for, and you agreed to it when you created the account.
Every reading keeps its own date and its own nature. Some of our assessments read a moment; others read something more lasting. We show each result with when it was taken and what kind of reading it was. We never present an older reading as a current fact about you. A reading from March is shown as what was true in March.
You control the whole picture, not just the pieces:
- See it — everything in your profile, any time.
- Export it — take a copy of the composite, not only individual results.
- Delete part of it — remove one assessment's results, and your profile is rebuilt without them. We'll tell you before you confirm, because it will change the picture.
- Delete all of it — deleting your account removes the profile with it.
8. Who else touches your data (our service providers)
We use a small number of trusted companies to run our assessments. They act only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes:
- Supabase — stores your assessment answers and results securely (our database).
- Lovable — builds, serves, and hosts our website.
- Kit — sends our marketing emails only (our newsletter and updates, if you sign up). Kit never touches your assessment answers or results.
- Our payment processor — [TO BE NAMED] — handles purchases for paid assessments. They never receive your assessment answers or results.
Your emotional-state data never leaves our own system to go to an email company or a payment company. Your results live in your private portal, not in your inbox and not with anyone who processes a payment.
9. How long we keep it (retention)
We keep data only as long as we need it, and we tell you exactly how long per type:
| Category | How long |
|---|---|
| Your email, profile, basic details, and identifiable results | Until you ask us to delete them. (Then permanently removed from active systems.) |
| Response-timing data | Same — until you ask us to delete it. |
| Your profile across assessments | As long as your account exists. It has no separate clock. |
| Inactivity purge | If your account is inactive for 24 months, we email you first, and if you don't return, we delete it. |
| Payment and purchase records | Kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even if you delete your account. This is a legal obligation we can't waive. It's the record of the transaction — not your assessment answers, which are deleted with everything else. |
| The opted-in research copy | Not applicable — it is anonymized data, not personal data, so it is not tied to you or your retention. |
| Consent records (that you agreed, when, to what) | Kept as long as needed to prove compliance, then deleted. |
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- See the information we hold about you.
- Correct it if it's wrong.
- Delete it — email us and we will permanently remove everything that identifies you: your email, your profile, your basic details, your results, and the picture they form. The one exception is purchase records, which tax and accounting law requires us to keep (see §9) — those hold the transaction, not your answers.
- Take it with you — get a portable copy, including the composite picture across assessments.
- Withdraw consent — including turning off research use without deleting your account.
- Limit the use of sensitive information and tell us not to sell or share it — though we already never sell or share your data for advertising.
To exercise any of these, email hope@forgehopenow.com. We'll respond within the timeframes the law requires (for most requests, without undue delay and within 30–45 days). California residents may also designate an authorized agent.
11. "Do Not Sell or Share" and browser privacy signals
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not do this for anyone. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it as a valid privacy request.
12. These assessments are for adults (18+)
Our assessments are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We ask you to confirm you're 18+ before you begin, and again before creating an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has used them, write to us and we'll remove the information.
13. Where your data is handled
We operate from the United States, and your data is processed and stored in the United States (AWS us-west-2, Oregon, via Supabase). If you use our assessments from outside the US, you're agreeing to your information being handled here under this policy, with the protections described above.
14. Security
We protect your data with:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), including your stored history.
- Strict access isolation: technical controls (row-level security, default-deny) so one user can never access another's data.
- An independent security review before we open to the public.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date and version at the top, and for anything important, we'll tell you before it takes effect. Each version is recorded so we know which version you agreed to.
16. How to reach us, and complaints
Dr. Dustin A. Jackson LLC · hope@forgehopenow.com · 4539 N 22nd St Ste N, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
If you're in the EU/UK and believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We hope you'll contact us first so we can make it right.
